/ ABOUT

I'm Chebli, a documentary filmmaker based in Toronto, born in Iran, raised in France, and most at home on the road. I make documentary portraits — as feature films, branded content, and commissioned work for magazines and online publications — drawn to stories about people who have given their lives to a craft, and to the quieter subjects that sit underneath: nature, memory, mortality, the pull of travel and return.

I work solo by choice. Cinematography, sound, editing, color — I do all of it, because the kind of intimacy I'm after tends to dissolve the moment a crew walks into the room. It's a slower way to work, but it lets me stay close to the subject and keep the filmmaking honest to what I actually saw and heard.

I find inspiration in travel, landscape, and the people I meet along the way. Available for the right projects. If something here resonates, I'd love to hear from you.
